Katie's Journey, 2008.

Written and Directed by Samuel Jørgensen.
Produced by Andrew Olson.
Director of Photography Nathanael Vorce.
Starring Ayla Judson, Ken Dresen, Deborah Abbott, Andrew Varenhorst and Lynnard Crecelius.

"A little girl must reconcile with her father after a family tragedy. Little does she know that her anger fuelled drawings have the power to change reality."

Katie's Journey is a fine offering courtesy of up-and-coming filmmaker Samuel Jorgensen, who demonstrates a highly impressive visual style with this excellent sci-fi/horror. Completed in 2008, the film screened at a number of festivals including CineQuest Film Festival and AFI Dallas International Film Festival, and is certainly worthy of your attention.

Samuel began his career building miniatures on TV commercials for Alex Proyas before doing CG previs work on the director's cult sci-fi Dark City (1998). After studying Visual Art at Sydney University Samuel worked in London on King Arthur (2004) before completing graduate film school at the University of Texas in Austin, where he is currently directing commercials and developing several feature projects.
