Video: BFI launch the 55th BFI London Film Festival

Last week the British Film Institute held the press launch for the 55th BFI London Film Festival, with BFI Chief Executive Amanda Nevill introducing a programme of films that gets underway on October 12th with the world premiere Fernando Meirelles' 360 and concludes on October 27th with the premiere of Terence Davies' The Deep Blue Sea.

This year the festival will showcase 204 feature films and 110 shorts, with highlights including the UK premieres of George Clooney's The Ides of March, Alexander Payne's The Descendants, Lynne Ramsay's We Need to Talk About Kevin, Roman Polanski's Carnage, Werner Herzog's Into the Abyss: A Tale of Death, A Tale of Life, Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Once Upon a Time in Antolia, David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, Dexter Fletcher's Wild Bill, Takashi Miike's Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai, Ralph Fiennes' Coriolanus, Steve McQueen's Shame, Nick Broomfield's Sarah Palin: You Betcha! and Justin Kurzel's Snowtown (read our interview with Justin Kurzel and review of Snowtown).
