Following on from the teaser which was released just last week comes the full theatrical trailer for Joel and Ethan Coen's upcoming Western remake True Grit, starring Jeff Bridges as US Marshal Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn, a role which bagged John Wayne the Academy Award for Best Actor when the film first hit the screen back in 1969. True Grit centres on a 14-year-old girl named Mattie Ross (newcomer Hailee Steinfeld), who sets out on a quest to avenge her father after he is murdered by a drifter named Tom Chaney (John Brolin). Step forward alcoholic US Marshal Rooster Cogburn, who is persuaded to join Mattie in tracking down the outlaw and bringing him to justice. The film also stars Matt Damon, Barry Pepper and Domhnall Gleeson, and according to Ethan Coen, will deliver a more faithful adaptation of Charles Portis' 1968 novel of the same name.

True Grit will open in North America on December 25th, with a UK release following on January 14th 2011.
