It’s ‘About Time’ for Richard Curtis’ new film

Three years after his last movie release, Richard Curtis is set to direct a new British film from his own script called About Time, which is being billed as a low-budget time travel dramady. The project is currently in pre-production with Working Title Films and casting is now getting underway ahead of filming in the summer.

Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films have worked together with Richard Curtis on both of the big-screen films he has directed, producing Love Actually and The Boat That Rocked. Details about the plot haven’t yet been revealed but Curtis may have been influenced by writing an episode of the time travel TV show Doctor Who.

He most recently wrote the screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s War Horse and is working on a number of other projects including a new collaboration with his Blackadder co-writer Ben Elton, rom com Lost For Words, and Trash for Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry (The Reader, The Hours, Billy Elliot).
