Check out the first trailer for action thriller Hanna starring Saoirse Ronan

Hanna Saoirse RonanSaoirse Ronan has been building quite a name for herself since bursting onto the scene with her Academy Award-nominated supporting turn in Atonement (2007), following this up with roles in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones (2008) and Peter Weir's soon-to-be-released WW2 epic The Way Back (2010). The young Irish actress will next turn her hand to action, reuniting with Atonement director Joe Wright for the adventure thriller Hanna, which has just received its first trailer earlier this week.

Ronan stars as the titular Hanna, a 14 year-old who has been raised by her father (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA spy, to be a the perfect assassin. After completing her training, Hanna is sent out into the world on a dangerous mission, journeying across Europe while eluding hostile agents dispatched by a ruthless intelligence agent (Cate Blanchett). Also featuring in the cast are Tom Hollander (Valkyrie) and Olivia Williams (An Education), while Brit dance duo The Chemical Brothers provide the musical score after dipping their toes in the water on the soundtrack to Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan.

Hanna is set for release in the UK and North America on April 8th, 2011.
