The Dark Knight Rises spy reports point towards a broken Bat as a 'synopsis' arrives online

From the moment that Tom Hardy was first announced as portraying Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, speculation has been rife that director Christopher Nolan would draw upon elements of the classic comic book story arc Batman: KnightFall for his final Batman outing. Now, if recent reports coming out of the Los Angeles shoot are accurate, it would seem that Batman does indeed suffer some pretty serious injuries at the hands of his venom-enhanced foe, leaving Gotham's protector out of commission - for a time, at least.

According to the spy reports, Christian Bale shot a scene featuring an 'older-looking' Bruce Wayne pulling up outside of a party in a snow-free Gotham City, before proceeding to limp into the building with the aid of a walking stick as reporters ask, "where you been hiding Mr. Wayne?". Couple this with the dialogue between Commissioner Gordon and Bruce / Batman from the teaser trailer, and it's surely all but confirmed now that Bane is going to lay the smack down big time before the Dark Knight eventually rises again to see off his foe. If that is the case, then perhaps Catwoman (and maybe even 'John Blake'?) pop up to take on the city's crime-fighting duties in his absence - not that the alleged synopsis that turned up online recently is giving much away:
Every hero has a journey. Every journey has an end. Christopher Nolan returns to complete the epic Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion-dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight. Inception's Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt join the cast regulars along with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy as the powerful villain Bane, while Oscar winner Christian Bale prowls the night as the Caped Crusader, fighting crime and corruption with the help of Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman.
Let the speculation continue...
