R.I.P. Corey Haim (1971-2010)

Corey HaimFormer child star and 80s heartthrob Corey Haim has passed away this morning aged 38. He was found unconscious in his apartment in Burbank, California and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, with early police reports indicating an accidental drug overdose.

Born in Toronto, Haim began his career in the Canadian TV series The Edison Twins (1982) before making his feature debut in the 1984 drama Firstborn. He achieved his greatest successes in the mid-80s with roles in Silver Bullet (1985), Lucas (1986) and The Lost Boys (1987), which marked the beginning of a long association with co-star Corey Feldman. Known as "The Two Coreys", the duo continued to star together in a number of movies including License to Drive (1988), Dream a Little Dream (1989), Blown Away (1992) and National Lampoon's Last Resort (1994).

Haim struggled to repeat his early success in later life and was relegated to a string of direct-to-video releases as he battled drug addictions. In 2006 he made a comeback alongside Feldman with the reality show The Two Coreys along with a handful of cameo appearances in movies such as Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003), Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008) and Crank: High Voltage (2009).
