New Trailer for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood

Director Ridley Scott returns with his $130m take on the legend of Robin Hood and will be looking to recapture the success of earlier historical epic Gladiator (2002) in his fifth collaboration with leading man Russell Crowe. The second theatrical trailer has been released today and gives a good impression of what to expect: Gladiator meets Kingdom of Heaven with plenty of swordplay, battles and medieval smackdown.

In the late 12th century Sir Robin of Loxley returns home from the crusades to find his home oppressed by the tyrannical Sheriff of Nottingham (Matthew Mcfayden). Assembling a band of followers, Robin fights to free his people and restore justice and freedom to England... and win the affections of Maid Marian (Cate Blanchett), naturally.

Joining Crowe as his band of Merry Men are Mark Addy (The Full Monty) as Friar Tuck, Scott Grimes (Band of Brothers) as Will Scarlet, Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as Little John and Canadian musician Alan Doyle as Allan A'Dayle. The rest of the cast includes Mark Strong (Body of Lies), Max von Sydow (The Seventh Seal) and William Hurt (The Incredible Hulk).
