Warner Bros. may have pushed the release date of their Superman reboot Man of Steel back until 2013, but the studio have today released the first official image featuring Henry Cavill in full costume as the titular superhero. The picture comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Daily Planet editor Perry White, joining the likes of Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Julia Ormond as Lara, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Antje Traue as Faora.
It makes a change from all of The Dark Knight Rises coverage, but will this latest reboot make the Superman franchise fly once again? Judging by the image, it seems to be off to a good start, don’t you think?

Man of Steel is set to arrive on June 14th, 2013 with Zack Snyder directing from a story by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan, who is also serving as producer.
