First trailer for Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch BabydollZack Snyder has had a busy time of late; his CG-animated fantasy Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’hoole has only recently hit screens and now the filmmaker is gearing up for the release of his next live-action offering Sucker Punch, described by the Watchmen director as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns”.

Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy set in the 1950s and centring on a young girl, Babydoll (The Uninvited’s Emily Browning), who finds herself in a mental asylum and creates a dream world to provide an escape from the darkness of reality. With just five days before she is due to be lobotomized, Babydoll and four other inmates - Rocket (Jena Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), Amber (Jamie Chung) and Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) — band together and embark on a fantastical adventure as they try to escape their terrible fate. Also featuring in the ensemble cast are Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood), Carla Gugino (Sin City), Jon Hamm (The Town) and Scott Glenn (The Bourne Ultimatum).

Sucker Punch is set for release on March 25th, 2011, while next up for the Snyder is of course the Christopher Nolan-produced reboot Superman: Man of Steel in 2012.
