Glamour model Keeley Hazell to star in comic short Venus and the Sun

Page 3 lovely Keeley Hazell will make her film debut this coming January with Venus and the Sun, a contemporary comic retelling of Ovid's classic Venus and Adonis myth. Based on a screenplay by theatre writer Reuben Grove and directed by Adam Randall (director of the award-winning short Hooded), the short is described as "a mix of live-action and animation that celebrates the the power of stories and explores themes of vanity, identity and societies obsession with image".

The film follows Keeley (starring as herself), who thinks she's solved all her problems by taking up an unexpectedly high-brow hobby: translating Latin. The language has given her magical powers, enabling her to ward-off the frenzied attention of her adoring fans, and the British Library offers an ideal refuge. But when she meets Adam, the one Sun-reader in the country she hadn't bargained for, Keeley is given a lesson in not judging books by their covers. Her journey of discovery will reveal just how far she's come to rely on the advantages of fame.

Venus and the Sun also stars British TV writer Will Smith (The Thick of It) and Ukweli Roach (StreetDance 3D), and will receive it's world premiere in London in January 2011 before debuting online. Check out the trailer...
