Fancy yourself as a movie producer on The Last Cosmonaut?

Up-and-coming filmmaker J. Van Auken dropped us an email recently to let us know about a rather interesting short film he's putting together entitled The Last Cosmonaut, which is currently seeking investors. Have a look at the synopsis...

"The Last Cosmonaut is the story of the last secretly launched Soviet space pilot in 1958. His existence has never been acknowledged by the Russian government. Every record of his launch was destroyed. He was last detected by the Torre Bert observatory in February, 1961. It is believed he now stands as the first and only person to ever leave the solar system."

The film take the form of a five minute short and will be shot in 35mm anamorphic using Russian lenses and cameras. Mr. Van Auken has put up half of the budget himself and is hoping to raise a further $2500 via donations. There is a range of packages available, starting at just $1 (earning a special thanks in the credits) through to $2000 (which will bag you an executive producer credit on your own slate, a supporting role in the film, DVD copies and the actual space capsule module used in the short).
