New trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the UnicornA new full length trailer has arrived for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, the upcoming 3D motion-capture animation from director Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson, which gives us a much better idea of the story than the teaser that hit the net a while back.

Based on a screenplay by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) and Steven Moffat (Doctor Who), with the British flavour extending to a cast that includes Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the Thompson twins, Toby Jones as Aristides Silk.

The $135m-budgeted Secret of the Unicorn is envisioned as the first of a trilogy, with Peter Jackson expected to handle directorial duties on the second installment, although financiers Sony are yet to decide whether to go ahead with a third outing after the poor reception given to mo-cop efforts such as Beowulf and Mars Needs Moms.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn hits UK cinemas on October 26th and arrives in North America on December 23rd.
