The Avengers assemble at Comic-Con with seven new character posters

If you've been keeping tabs on all the news coming out of Comic-Con then you'll probably already know that Marvel Studios have spent the last couple of days releasing character posters featuring the roster of Joss Whedon's superhero team-up, The Avengers. The posters - created by Ryan Meinerding and Charlie Wen - have now all made their way online, and as well as giving us a look at some of the costume changes for the big Marvel ensemble, we've also got our first look at The Incredible Hulk...


Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow.


Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark / Iron Man (who, according to reports, is likely to be joined in the cast by Gwenyth Paltrow's Pepper Potts).


Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Incredible Hulk, stepping in for the departing Edward Norton.


Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, complete with new-look suit.


Chris Hemsworth as Thor, along with Tom Hiddleston as Loki - the primary antagonist of The Avengers.


Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye.


Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.


As you can see, the character posters join together to give us this rather exciting shot of the entire team (click the image for a bigger version).

The Avengers is set for release on May 4th, 2012.
