Although Harry Potter dominated the multiplexes, both Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Bridesmaids managed to break the seven figure mark, although they are joined by Kung Fu Panda 2 in slipping one place each from last weekend to occupy second down to fourth. Comedy thriller The Guard continues to do well considering that it's yet to arrive outside of Ireland and retains onto fifth place, while Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life is another non-mover in sixth.
Apart from Harry Potter, the only other new entry this week is the Indian coming-of-age drama Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which takes seventh place with £254k. Bad Teacher slips four places to eighth, with The Hangover: Part II also slipping two to ninth. And finally, it seems that audiences aren't quite ready to say goodbye to the Pirates of the Caribbean, with fourth outing On Stranger Tides reentering the chart in tenth after nine weeks on screens.

Incoming...
In a bold move from Pixar, the animated sequel Cars 2 (cert. U) opens this coming Friday and will likely struggle against competition from J.K. Rowling's Boy Wizard, while comedies Beginners (cert. 15) and Horrible Bosses (cert. 15) will also have their work cut out if they're to make much of an impact in the chart. Also released on Friday is the French thriller The Big Picture (cert. 15), along with BBC nature documetary One Life (cert. U), narrated by Daniel Craig.
