There's been a lot of talk recently that fans will get their first look at footage from Christopher Nolan's third Batman feature, The Dark Knight Rises, with the release of a teaser trailer alongside Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and in preparation Warner Bros. have now released the first teaser poster through the official site, TheDarkKnightRises.com (click the image to your right for a high-resolution version). The Dark Knight Rises sees Christian Bale return as Batman alongside Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. Joining the cast are Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake. Other actors set to feature in the supporting cast include Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, Matthew Modine, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Alon Abutbul, with Liam Neeson also reported to reprise his role as Ra' al Ghul from Batman Begins for a brief cameo.
Story details for The Dark Knight Rises remain tighly under wraps, but hopefully we'll get a better idea of the plot once the trailer arrives. Will it be with Harry Potter? If not, then you have to expect it to be just around the corner.
The Dark Knight Rises is set for release on July 20th, 2012.
