And so, as the first week of the 55th London Film Festival draws to a close, the British Film Institute have released their latest Vodcast, covering the highlights from day seven of the festivities. The big event yesterday was the American Airlines Gala screening of writer-director Michel Hazanavicius' (OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies) The Artist, with the UK premiere attended by Harvey Weinstein and actors Bérénice Bejo (A Knight's Tale) and Jean Dujardin (Lucky Luke). Meanwhile, at BFI Southbank, Makoto Shinkai (5 Centimetres Per Second) presented the European premiere of Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below, while the video also includes coverage of the Filmmaker Tea at the May Fair Hotel."The Artist synopsis: Hollywood 1927. George Valentin (Dujardin) is a silent movie superstar. The advent of the talkies will sound the death knell for his career and see him fall into oblivion. For young extra Peppy Miller (Bejo), it seems the sky's the limit - major movie stardom awaits. The Artist tells the story of their interlinked destinies."
