British comedy star and Celebrity Juice host Keith Lemon is set to follow in the footsteps of Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G, Borat and Bruno as he makes his feature film debut, with Lionsgate UK announcing that cameras will begin rolling on Keith Lemon: The Film on November 17th in Belfast. Written by Lemon's alter-ego, Leigh Francis (creator of Bo Selecta and Keith Lemon’s World Tour) and Paul Angunawela (Keith Lemon's Fit), the movie will be directed by Angunawela and is to be produced by Mark Huffam (Prometheus, Game of Thrones, Mamma Mia!, Johnny English), Simon Bosanquet (The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Ripley's Game, Whole Lotta Sole) and Aidan Elliott (Killing Bono, Fairytale of New York). Take a look at the synopsis...
"Keith Lemon: The Film is a comedy about Keith following his dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur, just like his hero Richard Branson. He comes to London from Leeds, becomes an overnight billionaire then an overday failure before finding the road to redemption."
"It's a privilege to have the power of sight, hearing, touching and feeling," said Lemon, who will be joined on the project by co-star Verne Troyer (Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone). "But to make a film which I am going to be able to see myself in, hear myself in, but unfortunately not touch or feel myself in (because it's not in 3D) is even more'rer'rer of privilege. Especially since it's based on true life events that have happened in my true life, apart from of course 98.2 per cent of it which has been made up simply for entertainment purposes."
